During Assembly today we were recognising and learning about Mental Health – tomorrow is World Mental Health Day.
To learn about how the children could deal with thier emotions – sadnes, anger and worry we read the book ‘Under the Mask.’ This is a special book as it was written by a previous teacher of Newmore Primary, Emma Cahill. Emma is currently teaching in Brazil.
Miss Cahill sent us our own video of her reading the book to us – the children LOVED it!
Ask your child who the characters are and how they help them to recognise how to ‘unlock my ability for ME to control me.’
It is a super book which helps the children to understand and relate to how they might feel at times – ’emotions are vistiors, they come and go!’
