Newmore Parent SQ Summary 2019
I hope you find it useful in helping us to move the school forward. It is important that we all know and are aware of the aims for the year.
I look forward to another successful year at Newmore Primary School.
Mrs Dunnett
Scottish Commemorations Panel

Lord Lieutenant Janet Bowen visited us today to award us with a certificate for using the HMS Natal Story for J Rock. S
She is the Queen’s representative in this area. We showed her our performance and she was very impressed.

County Sports
Well done to our County Sports team who travelled to Dingwall today to participate in different athletics competitions. As always, our Newmore pupils did the school and their families proud.
New Gates
We are delighted, after a very long wait to show off our new fence at Newmore.
This will bring an added level of security for us all. All visitors to the school have to go to the main building to sign in and gain access. Therefore staff will be able to much more closely monitor movement within the school.

Highland Hospice Fundraiser
Today the school sold cakes and yellow wrist bands as part of the Highland Hospice Wear Yellow Day.
A massive £114.50 was raised! A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved.

School Values

P1-4 are brainstorming some suggestions for the new school Values. They are working together to come up with what the value sounds like, looks like, feels like and the meaning. Also, we are currently running a competition to come up with a new school motto.
Football Tournament
Well done to our Football Team who took part in the Ross Shire Schools Football Tournament today despite it being a very soggy and miserable day.
Eventhough they needed some thawing out once they got back they represented the school brilliantly and as always I am so proud of our pupils.

Junior Road Safety Officers

Our school JRSOs (Junior Road Safety Officers) attended training today to learn how to carry out their new important job. They will inform and remind the children how to stay safe on the road. We will now start planning their first task in this new role.
The children were a joy to take out and they thought it was, ‘so much fun.’
