Sunflowers

This week P4-7 were dissecting sunflowers as part of their plants project in science.

The pupils used the different parts of the flower to make an information poster. They then carried out research on their chromebooks to add further details. downloadsunflower

New Strips

We are delighted to be showing off our brand new sports strips. One of our pupils took it upon herself to ask her Dad to sponsor us and we were delighted when he agreed.

Newmore always relishes the opportunity to participate in School Sporting Events and these will make us feel prouder as we attend such events.

HUGE Thank You to Rod Munro Ltd. We are VERY HAPPY!

Artie’s Tartan Tales

Our infant class was very excited to have been invited along to Coulhill Primary to see ‘Artie’s Tartan Tales.’ Artie was one half of the well known ‘Singing Kettle.’

The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and singing along to Scottish Songs.

The children were fabulous ambassadors of our school and behaved impeccably, especially when they had break with the other pupils at Coulhill. We are very proud of them and are so lucky to have such fabulous pupils.

Termly Plans

A new page has been added to our blog, ‘Termly Plans.’

This is so you can now access the termly plans on here too!

Please go and have a look at our new page and see why it is important to refer to the termly plan.

Thank you!

Ross County

Our partnership with Ross County continued today and will so weekly for the rest of the Academic Session.

Newmore Primary was selected and sponsored by a local business (who we don’t know but are delighted and very much appreciate it!) to receive a programme to;

1. To develop Fundamental Movement Skills through participation in enjoyable games.
2. Help raise confidence, self-esteem and motivation to learn in other curricular areas.
3. Raise the confidence of, and provide support to, primary teachers in delivering Physical Education.

We are excited about this project and are DELIGHTED to have been selected. THANK YOU!

Literacy

Our pupils were getting full advantage of our new and improved outdoor area today and were and carrying out their literacy activities using the outdoors today.

P1-4 were doing various literacy challenges.  They had to write their name using stones, sticks and leaves.  They also had to find rhyming words.
