Here at Newmore Primary we work with many partners who help to make school life and learning for our children.  We are very grateful to them for their support with our curriculum.
Here are a few examples:

Highlife Highland, Active Schools Co-coordinator, Jake Williams. His aim is to increase the opportunities for quality extra-curricular sport and activity within our community for children and young people, inspiring young people to adopt healthy lifestyles that will stay with them throughout their lives. He also delivers the Junior Sports Leader Award to the older pupils in the school to enable them to lead and deliver sessions to the younger children throughout the year in the playground.
Primary 5-7 attend weekly swimming lessons on a Friday afternoon at Alness Swimming Pool, these are provided free of charge to us as a school by Highlife Highland Staff.
Music instructors visit school weekly for those families who have signed up their children to recieve free instrument tuition.
This session we have two visiting specialists who provide tuition in strings and woodwind.

Feis Rois,Fèis Rois enables people of all ages to access, participate in and enjoy the traditional arts and Gaelic language through a diverse programme of activities in Ross & Cromarty, across Scotland and beyond.

Based in Dingwall, Fèis Rois is widely recognised as a national leader in the arts, particularly in music education. The organisation aims to give young people and lifelong learners the opportunity to experience and engage with traditional music and Gaelic culture in a way that supports them in developing their social skills and inspires them to reach their full potential.

Feis Rois, come in to school for 2 blocks throughout the school year, to provide our pupils to experience Traditional Scottish Music and Verse.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club

Last session, and again this year, we are delighted to have Inverness Caley Thistle FC in school to deliver a football session each week to both classes.

The aim of the sessions are;

1. To develop Fundamental Movement Skills through participation in enjoyable games.
2. Help raise confidence, self-esteem and motivation to learn in other curricular areas.
3. Raise the confidence of, and provide support to, primary teachers in delivering Physical Education.

Fyrish Gymnastics

We have attended weekly gymnastics session at the purpose-built gym in Alness. The pupils receive lessons from fully qualified gymnastics coaches in a fantastic, purpose-built facility.
