JRSO Assembly

Today our JRSOs did an assembly to the whole school and they were talking about road safety and how important a high viz and a seat belt are. All children in the school are asked to wear a High Viz to and from school.

Here are our JRSOs presenting at Assembly and writing this BLOG post! jrso 3

Community Partnership

This morning Scott Boyd and Dale Pryde-Macdonald from Ross County and Paul Smith from Pallet Services Invergordon came to see the work going on through Ross County’s Sponsor a School Programme. Paul attended Newmore as a Pupil which is why sponsored us.

We presented Paul with a Thank You card where the pupils wrote messages about the programme.

Thank you to Paul for his support of Newmore Primary! We are VERY grateful.

Swim Team

swim team

Yesterday, this fabulous group of pupils competed in the Annual Ross Shire Sports Association Swimming Gala at Alness Swimming Pool. The team did exceptionally well and narrowly missed 1st place by 1 point.

This was a great achievement to come 2nd place in our group!

Well done!

Bikiability Level 2

Recentlybike P6/7 went down to Park Primary for the day and then cycled around Invergordon to complete their Bikeability training with Mrs G and Jake (Active Schools)

The children were fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed the session. Here they are with their Certificates.

Well done and thank you to Park Primary and Jake for making this possible.

Termly Plans

The ‘Termly Plan‘ Page has been updated with this terms plans so that you are aware of the teaching and learning experiences for the children in the coming term. It will also link to what you see on Seesaw.

STEM Challenge

The whole school got together to carry out a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) challenge activity. They had to create a ‘Skeleton Bridge’ that followed specific criteria;
*to be strong enough to hold a dancing zombie figure
*to be far enough of the ground for a toy skull to pass under
* longer than any other groups
The pupils had such a fun time in their groups building their bridges that there was no time at the end to assess! But we were super impressed at the level of design, fabulous teamwork and great communication that we saw from the pupils.
