School Values

We are delighted to share that after 42 pupils, parents and staff voted for our new school values.

The winning values with 41.5% of the vote was;

‘N.E.W.M.O.R.E’

  • Never giving up
  • Empathy
  • Working Hard
  • Motivated
  • Opportunities
  • Ready to Learn
  • Encouraging

This week the whole school have been thinking about what each value means and what we could do to demonstrate each of these values.

Kintyre House Partnership

Some residents of Kintyre House came to visit today and we sung them the couple of songs we did at the Church of Scotland a few weeks ago 🎶 they were very impressed by our fabulous singing! After the singing we made giant snowflakes for the residents to take back to brighten up their dayroom for the winter season ❄️

Winter Shows

On Monday and Tuesday this week we had 3 performances of our Winter Shows. P1-4 performed ‘A Snowman at Sunset’ and P4-7 performed ‘Cinderella Rockafella.’ We hope those who attended enjoyed them– we certainly did! Operation “Clean Up” has taken place this morning!  We raised the fabulous amount of £1084 for our school fund so thank you all so much for your support.

Crafts were on sale in the canteen which was part of the P7 Residential Trip fundraising efforts and the sales during the shows, as well as the sales at the recent Invergordon Street Fayre, now total £303. Well done to all involved! Thank you for your ongoing support. Everyone at Newmore wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Christmas Unwrapped

Yesterday, Primary 1-4 were invited to the Capstone to learn about the Christmas Story.

They were split into groups and worked their way around various stations to learn about the key messages and story of Christmas.

Thank you so much to the Minister, Calum from Rosskeen Free Church for inviting us, the story tellers, the snack team and everyone else who made it possible. The Children has a great afternoon. cap 2cap 3capstone

Invergordon Street Fayre

On Saturday, parents and pupils held at stall at the Invergordon Christmas Fayre. Lots of parents supported this event by making and providing crafts and then helping out on the day. The proceeds of the stall are to go towards the P7 Residential Trip in April.

Thank you to all who helped!

Technology

P4-7 have been developing their confidence and being creative with textiles in Technology. They had to design and make a bag and have been learning how cut and tack and then use a sewing machine! This was all linked to what they were also learning in Maths for measure.
