Footballing Thursday!

We are delighted to welcome back Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC coaches who are providing both classes with footbal sessions once more. This is great fun but we are also improving our ball skills and team building abilities.

Swimming

Every Friday afternoon Primary 5-7 attend swimming lessons at Alness Leisure Centre, where the children are encouraged to learn to swim, improve their strokes and learn life-saving skills, depending on individual abilities.

And we are back!

And here we are ready for another year of school.

A very warm welcome to our new pupils and families who have joined us this session but a particularly warm welcome to our new P1s who have started their school life with us here at Newmore!

End of Term Assembly June 2024

And just like that another year at Newmore Primary School has come to an end, and what a great year it has been once more.

A time of mixed emotions for some of our families as we say farewell to our Primary 7 pupils, but we wish them well for the Academy and as they know our door is always open, and we look forward to hearing all about their adventures in the years ahead.

For the rest of us it is time to recharge the batteries and spend time with our friends and families in preparation for the adventures that await us in 2024 – 2025!

See you all in August.

World of Work Week 2024

We had a super week in school from the 3rd to 7th June. We invited local business and employers to come into school to tell us about their jobs and the skills they use. Some of them even demonstrated the skills they use and allowed us to try it out.

On Tuesday we went to Ardross for the day and employers set up stalls in the hall where we could walk round and ask them questions.

During the week we also got out and about visiting some of the local businesses.

Sponsored Walk

We decided as a school we would like to mark the end of term with a walk up to the Fyrish Monument.

As our P7 class had been up when they were in P1 we thought it was a great way mark them leaving us, and also a super way to raise funds for both schools and Invergordon RNLI as they commemorate 50 years this year.

From both Newmore and Ardross Primaries we have been able to donate £1720 to the RNLI, a fantastic amount and we are very grateful to everyone who donated.

It was a super morning and we are very grateful to Janette and Mr Rob from The Place and The Field in Alness for inviting us to have our lunch and games to finish a great day out.

RNLI Art & Poetry Competition

This year marks 200 years since the RNLI began saving lives at sea, and it is 50 years since the RNLI station opened in Invergordon.

All schools in our local area have been asked to commemorate this anniversary by taking part in an art and poetry competition. The results of which will be announced in September.

We have been very lucky as the art teacher from the academy offered to share her printing knowledge with us and Mrs Blake, so we put these skills to good use. We can’t wait to find out how we get on!
